Each year, as we switch from daylight savings time to regular time, we are blessed with one extra hour. Some choose to change their clocks the night before and to sleep in. Some years ago I learned a silly trick. Keep your watch at summer time until you are ready. Then move your watch back an hour and do something special with that time.

There is a fascinating article in this month’s National Geographic about a treasure of gold found in a field in Staffordshire. I was particularly fascinated by this photograph by Robert Clark of one of the artifacts owned by the Birmingham Museums and Art Gallery; Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, Stoke-on-Trent which has inscribed on it the biblical verse “Rise up, Lord, may your enemies be dispersed and those who hate you flee from our face” which was Moses’ declaration as the Israelites journeyed out of Sinai. How? Where? Who?

A marvelous webcam is now available with scenes of polar bears making their way through the Arctic. The website says “philanthropic based media to champion the selfless acts of others, create a portal into the soul of humanity and inspire lifelong learning.”
